The first statement in the sequence should be the one that introduces a new topic. It should not be a continuation or extension of a topic.
C is first in the sequence: C is chronologically first. It starts talking about the subject who is nervous the night before his/her first recording.
C is followed by A: A comes directly next. It says, as the subject is nervous, he/she said prayers and tried to sleep early.
A is followed by D: D follows C's actions. As the subject tried to sleep he/she was haunted by the fear of not being able to sing.
D is followed by B: B continues D's action. It says that as the subject was haunted by fear, he/she gave up on sleeping and went for a walk instead.
Thus, the correct sequence is C A D B. Hence, D is the correct option.
