Four cubes of volume 125 cm3 each are joined end to end in a row. Find the surface area of the resulting cuboid.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let side of each cube be a

Given volume =125cm3

So, a3=125 cm3
a=5 cm

Length of the resulting cuboid=4a cm
Breadth of the resulting cuboid=a cm
Height of the resulting cuboid=a cm

Surface area of cuboid=2(length×breadth+breadth×height+height×length)
=2(4a×a+a×a+a×4a)
=2(4a2+a2+4a2)
=18a2
=18×52 cm2
=450cm2

Hence, the surface area of the resulting cuboid is 450 cm2
