- Unitegmic: When there is single integument in the ovule, then it is known as unitegmic. e.g. Gymnosperms.
- Bitegmic: When there are two integuments in the ovule, then it is known as bitegmic. e.g. Angiosperms.
- Ategmic: When there is no integument in thew ovule, then it is known as ategmic. e.g. Santalum.
So, generally the number of integuments in the ovule of angiosperms and gymnosperms is two and one respectively.
