Question

Given equation is 5x=4y+7, then the slope is 5m find the value of m.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

The equation of any straight line can be written as y=mx+c, where m is its slope and c is its y - intercept.
5x=4y+7 can be written as 4y=5x7 or y=54x74
Comparing this equation with the standard form of the equation, we get:
m=54,c=74
Hence, slope of 5x=4y+7 is 54 and y -intercept is 74

Hence the value of m is 4
