Bile acids have detergent action on particles of dietary fat which causes fat globules to break down or be emulsified into minute, microscopic droplets. Bile stimulated lipase is an enzyme produced by the adult pancreas and aids in the digestion of fats. Bile is a complex aqueous secretion that originates from hepatocytes and is modified by absorptive and secretory transport systems in the bile duct. Bile then enters the gallbladder where it is concentrated by absorption of water or is delivered directly to the intestinal lumen.Since bile increases the absorption of fats, it is an important part of the absorption of the fat-soluble substances Bile contains bile acids, which are critical for digestion and absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins in the small intestine. Many waste products, including bilirubin, are eliminated from the body by secretion into bile and elimination in feces.
So, the correct answer is '4'.
