Question
How much energy (in joule) is produced if $$1kg$$ mass is converted into energy?
Open in App
Solution
Verified by Toppr
We know that,
$$E = mc^2$$
Here, $$m = 1$$ kg and c = speed of light $$= 3 \times 10^8m/s$$
∴$$E = (1\,kg)(3\times10^8m/s)^2$$
∴$$E= 9 \times 10^{16}\,joule$$
