Question

How much steel sheet was actually used, if 112 of the steel was wasted in making the tank. Area of the tank is 87.12m2

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given : radius=2.1cm and height=4.5cm

Let the actual area of steel used be x m2

Since 112 of the steel was wasted in making the tank.

Area of the steel used in tank = x112x

1112x

Area of the tank : 87.12 cm2

Now 1112x = 87.12 cm2

x=87.12×1211

95.04m2

The amount of steel used is 95.04 m2
