Question

How much work is done when a body of mass m is raised to a height h above the ground?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

The work done to raise a body to a height above the surface of the earth gets stored in the form of gravitational potential energy.

Thus, Work done = Gain in potential energy

so, Work done = mgh

(Since Potential energy = mgh)
