Question

If 20 litres of mixture containing 85% milk is mixed with 25 litres of another mixture, Then the resultant mixture has 60% milk. Find the percentage of milk in the second mixture.

Solution

Milk in first mix =85100×20
=17 ltrs
Milk in 2nd mix =x100×25=x4
Total milk =60100(45)=27 ltrs
So 17+x4=27
x4=10
x=40%.
