Question

If costs 2200 to paint the inner curved surface of a cylindrical vessel 10 m deep. If the cost of painting is at the rate of 20 per m2, find
(i) inner curved surface area of the vessel,
(ii) radius of the base and
(iii) capacity of the vessel.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

(i) Cost of painting 1m2 area =Rs.20

Rs.20 is cost painting 1 m2 area

Rs.2200 is cost of painting =220020m2

=110m2 area

(ii) Let radius =r1, h=10m, SA=2πrh=110

r=110×722×2×10=74=1.75m

(iii) Volume of vessel
=πr2h=227×1.75×1.75×10

=96.25m3

=96250 litres
