Question

If K1,K2,K3 are equilibrium constant for formation of AD1,AD2,AD3, respectively as follows A+DAD1, AD1+DAD2,AD2+DAD3. Then equilibrium constant 'K' for A+3DAD3 is related as:
  1. K1+K2+K3=K
  2. logK1+logK2+logK3=logK
  3. K1+K2=K3+K
  4. logK1+logK2=logK3+logK

A
logK1+logK2=logK3+logK
B
logK1+logK2+logK3=logK
C
K1+K2+K3=K
D
K1+K2=K3+K
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Equilibrium constant is the ratio of concentration of product to that of concentration of reactant during on equilibrium.
A+DAD1 Equilibrium Constant = K1
AD1+DAD2 Equilibrium Constant = K2
AD2+DAD3 Equilibrium Constant = K3
Adding the above equation
A+3DAD3 Equilibrium Constant = K
We know that when equations are added, their equilibrium constants are multiplied.
K1×K2×K3=K
Taking log of both sides
logK1+logK2+logK3=logK
