Question

If the diameter of a right cone is 6cm and its vertical height is 4cm, then its curved surface area is:
  1. 47.1 cm2
  2. 48 cm2
  3. 49 cm2
  4. 50 cm2

A
47.1 cm2
B
49 cm2
C
50 cm2
D
48 cm2
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The correct option is A 47.1 cm2
Given, the vertical height is h=4cm

and diameter is d=6cm.

Then, radius =d2=62=3cm.

Now, slant height =l=r2+h2

=(3)2+(4)2=9+16

=25=5cm.

Then, the curved surface area of a right circular cone

=πrL

=π×3×5

=3.14×5×3

=47.1cm2.

Hence, option A is correct.
