Question

If the solution of the equation 5(23x)17(2x5)=16 is x=a4b
then value of (a+b)=? where (b) is the digit of units place and (a) is the numerator.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

We have to solve the equation 5(23x)17(2x5)=16
So,
1015x34x+85=16

79=49x

x=7949

So, clearly a=79 and b=9

Hence, (a+b)=79+9=88
