Question

If x is 20% less than y , find: $$\dfrac x{y - x}$$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Consider $$y = 100 $$
Reduction $$= 20\% = 20$$
$$x = 100 - 20=80$$
$$\dfrac x { ( y-x)} = \dfrac{80}{(100-80)}$$
So we get $$= \dfrac{80}{20}$$ ( Dividing by 20)
$$ =\dfrac 41 = 4$$
