Question

In a water heating system there is a cylindrical pipe of length $$28\ cm$$ and diameter $$5\ cm$$. Find the total radiating surface in the system.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

The dimensions of cylindrical pipe
Diameter $$=5 cm$$
Radius $$=5/2 =2.5 cm$$
Height $$=28 m =2800 cm$$

We know that

Total radiating surface in the system = curved surface area of cylindrical pipe $$=2\ \pi r h$$

By substituting the values

Total radiating surface in the system $$=2\times (22/7)\times 2.5\times 2800$$

So we get

Total radiating surface in the system $$=44000\ cm^2$$

Therefore , the total radiating surface in the system is $$44000\ cm^2$$
