In an examination, the pass percentage is 33%. A candidate secured 310 marks and failed by 53 marks. What is the maximum mark?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let x be the maximum marks.
Passing marks =33100×x=33x100
Now, according to the question-
33x10053=310
33x100=310+53
x=3630033=1100
Hence the maximum marks are 1100.
