There are three germ layers during the embryonic development outer is ectoderm, the middle layer is mesoderm and the innermost layer is endoderm. The alimentary canal is a hollow tubular structure, which extends from mouth to anus. It is developed from ectoderm and endoderm. Part of the alimentary canal, which develops from ectoderm is mouth or oral opening up to hard palate then from the soft palate to rectum are derived from endoderm. Finally, the terminal part i.e., from anal canal to anus is derived from ectoderm. The intestine and stomach develop from endoderm.
