Solution
Verified by Toppr

The correct answer is Option D.
ARTISTE means a person skilled in technical arts like singing, dancing and acting.
ARTIST is a person skilled in fine arts like painting.
In the given sentences:
Sentence 1 states that painter is an ARTISTE - This is incorrect because a painter is skilled in fine arts and not technical arts. The correct word will be ARTIST.
Similarly in sentence 2, Raj Kapoor is an actor and thus an expert in technical art of acting. Thus ARTIST will be incorrect because it refers to a person expert in fine arts. The correct word will be ARTISTE.
Both the sentences are incorrect but they can be corrected by interchanging the italicized words.
Thus Option D is the correct answer.
