Question

It is desired to measure the magnitude of field between the poles of a powerful loud speaker magnet. A small flat search coil of area 2cm2 with 25 closely wound turns, is positioned normal to the field direction, and then quickly snatched out of the field region. Equivalently, one can give it a quick 90 turn to bring its plane parallel to the field direction). The total charge flown in the coil (measured by a ballistic galvanometer connected to coil) is 7.5 mC. The combined resistance of the coil and the galvanometer is 0.50 Ω. Estimate the field strength of magnet.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Q=tftiIdt
=1Rtftiεdt
=NRΦfΦidΦ
=NR(ΦiΦf)
N=25,R=0.50Ω,Q=7.5×103C
Φf=0,A=2.0×104m2
Φi=1.5×104Wb

B=Φi/A=0.75T

A coil of resistance 40 Ω is connected to a galvanometer of 160 Ω resistance. The coil has radius of 6 mm and 100 turns. This coil is placed between the poles of a magnet such that the magnetic field is perpendicular to plane of the coil. If the coil is dragged out of this magnetic field instantaneously, a total charge of 32μC flows through the galvanometer. The magnitude of magnetic field is:

The ends of a coil, having 20 turns, area of cross-section 1 cm2 and resistance 2 Ω, are connected to a galvanometer of resistance 40 Ω. The plane of coil is inclined at an angle 30 to the direction of a magnetic field of intensity 1.5 T. The coil is quickly pulled out of the field, to a region of zero magnetic field. Calculate the total charge that passes through the galvanometer, during this interval.

A small coil is introduced between the poles of an electro-magnet so that its axis coincides with the magnetic field direction. The cross-sectional area of the coil is equal to S=3.0 mm2, the number of turns in N=60. When the coil turns through 180 about its diameter, a ballistic galvanometer connected to the coil indicates a charge q=4.5μC flowing through it. Find the magnetic induction magnitude between the poles provided the total resistance of the electric circuit equals R=40Ω.
