The position of hydrogen in periodic table is a subject of discussion, due to similarities and dissimilarities of hydrogen with alkali metals and halogens. It is difficult to assign a specific position to hydrogen. On the basis of electronic configuration, it is suitable to place hydrogen on group $$1$$ of periodic table.
