Question

In a boiling tube solution of ammonium chloride was collected for a litmus paper test.
Keep the litmus paper for some time at the mouth of the boiling tube and then observe its color change. What has the change occurred?

The wet litmus paper has changed again to red color due to the presence of the hydrogen chloride $$(HCl)$$ gas. When ammonium chloride $$(NH_4Cl)$$ is heated. Lighter $$NH_3$$ comes out first then the denser $$HCl$$ comes out.
