Given below are few Mathematical terms.
Find
(a) The ratio of consonants to vowels in each of the terms.
(b) The percentage of consonants in each of the terms.

(a) (i) Number of consonants in Hypotenuse $$= 6$$

Number of vowels in Hypotenuse $$= 4$$

Hence, required ratio $$= \dfrac{6}{4} = \dfrac{3}{2} \,i.e. 3 : 2$$

(ii) Number of consonants in Congruence $$= 6$$

Number of vowels in Congruence $$= 4$$

Hence, required ratio $$= \dfrac{6}{4} = \dfrac{3}{2} \,i.e. \,3 : 2$$

(iii) Number of consonants in Perpendicular $$= 8$$

Number of vowels in Perpendicular $$= 5$$

Hence, required ratio $$= \dfrac{8}{5} \,i.e. \,8 : 5$$

(iv) Number of consonants in Transversal $$= 8$$

Number of vowels in Transversal $$= 3$$

Hence, required ratio $$ = \dfrac{8}{3} \,i.e. \,8 : 3$$

(v) Number of consonants in Correspondence $$= 9$$

Number of vowels in Correspondence $$= 5$$

Hence, required ratio $$= \dfrac{9}{5} \,i.e. \,9 : 5$$

(b) (i) Percentage of consonants in Hypotenuse

$$= \dfrac{6}{10} \times 100 = 60\%$$

(ii) Percentage of consonants in Congruence

$$= \dfrac{6}{10} \times 100 = 60\%$$

(iii) Percentage of consonants in Perpendicular

$$=\dfrac{8}{13} \times 100 = 61.53\%$$

(iv) Percentage of consonants in Transversal

$$= \dfrac{8}{11} \times 100 = 72.72\%$$

(v) Percentage of consonants in Correspondence

$$= \dfrac{9}{14} \times 100 = 64.28\%$$
