Question

Plot the points A (4, 5), B (-1, 5), C (-1, -2) and D (4, -2) on a graph paper. Join AB, BC, CD and DA. Give a special name to the quadrilateral ABCD obtained. Also, find its area.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Since opposite sides are equal in length and sides are perpendicular to each other, the quadrilateral ABCD is a rectangle.
Also length of rectangle is AB=CD=5units
and breadth of rectangle is AD=BC=7units
So Area of the rectangle =length×breadth=5×7=35squnits
