Ribonucleic acid is a long polymer of ribonucleotides. Each ribonucleotide is made up of the ribose sugar, phosphoric acid, and a nitrogenous base. The nitrogenous bases in ribonucleotides are of two types- purine bases (adenine and guanine) and pyrimidine bases (cytosine and uracil).
