Question

Rearrange the following in a proper logical sequence.
Myelin sheath, Axon Membrane , Neurolemma

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Neurilemma is the outermost nucleated cytoplasmic layer of Schwann cells (also called neurolemmocytes) that surrounds the axon of the neuron. Myelin sheath is made of fats and proteins that wraps around the axon of a nerve cell and are present inner to the neurolemma. So, the logical order will be neurolemma, myelin sheath, axon membrane.

Q5
Assertion:
A myelinated nerve fibre is enveloped by Schwann cells, which form a myelin sheath around the axon.

Reason:
An unmyelinated nerve fibre is not enclosed by a Schwann cell and hence does not form a myelin sheath around the axon.
