Question

Rohit earns Rupees $$15,300$$ and save Rupees $$1,224$$ per month. Find the ratio of his income and expenditure.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given
Rohit's income $$=15,300$$
Rohit's saving $$=1,224$$
$$\therefore$$Monthly expenditure $$=(15300-1224)$$
$$=14076$$

$$\therefore$$ Rohit's income : Rohit's expenditure $$=15,300 : 14,076$$
$$=\dfrac{15300}{14076}$$
$$=\dfrac{15300\div 612}{14076 \div 612}\hspace{1cm}[\because HCF$$ of $$15,300$$ and $$14076$$ is $$612]$$
$$=\dfrac{25}{23}$$

Hence the ratio of Rohit's income and expenditure is $$=25:23$$
