Stratified cuboidal epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue which is composed of multiple layers of cube-shaped cells. The most superficial layer is made up of cuboidal cells and the other layers can be of other types. Conventionally, the naming of stratified epithelium is based on the type of cells in the most superficial layer. The basic components of a mature mammary gland are the alveoli lined with milk-secreting cuboidal cells and surrounded by myoepithelial cells.
