Question

Simplify the following using distributive property
1) $$\frac { 2 }{ 5 } \times\left( \frac { 1 }{ 9 } +\frac { 2 }{ 5 } \right) $$

Solution
Verified by Toppr

$$\dfrac { 2 }{ 5 } \times\left( \dfrac { 1 }{ 9 } +\dfrac { 2 }{ 5 } \right) $$

$$=\dfrac { 2 }{ 5 } \times\dfrac { 1 }{ 9 } +\dfrac { 2 }{ 5 } \times\dfrac { 2 }{ 5 } =\dfrac { 2 }{ 45 } +\dfrac { 4 }{ 25 } $$

$$=\dfrac { 2\times25+4\times45 }{ 45\times25 } =\dfrac { 50+180 }{ 1125 } $$

$$=\dfrac { 230 }{ 1125 } =\dfrac { 46 }{ 225 } $$
