State the differences between a permanent magnet and an electromagnet.

(1) Electromagnet is made of soft iron while permanent magnet is made of steel.
(2) The poles of an electromagnet can be reversed by but the poles of a permanent magnet cannot be reversed.
(3) An electromagnet produces a magnetic field as long as the current flows in the wire while a permanent magnet produces a permanent magnetic field.
(4) The strength of the magnetic field in an electromagnet can be changed. In a permanent magnet the strength of the magnetic field cannot be changed.
