  1. True
  2. False

A
False
B
True
Solution
Verified by Toppr

According to quantum theory, electron poses spin around their axis and because of that they acts as magnet. Also nucleons behave in similar way. Nucleons include protons and neutrons. Proton is positively charged and neutron is neutral in nature. All charged particles have spin and act like a magnet. This behavior is similar to the behavior of electron.

Q3
Assertion :The atoms or ions possessing unpaired electrons are paramagnetic in nature whereas those possessing electron pairs are diamagnetic in nature. Reason: In diamagnetic substances, the spins of the two electrons cancel out and thus the diamagnetic substances doesnot show any magnetic behaviour . However in paramagnetic substances, the spin of the electron counts and the resultant magnetic moment is not zero.
