Question

Sulphur hexa Fluoride is less reactive than sulphur tetra fluoride. Explain.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Sulfur hexafluoride is less reactive than sulfur tetrafluoride because in the central atom is attached to 6 Fluorine atoms and hence are sterically hindered for a reaction while in case of the central atom is attached to only 4 atoms of F making it less sterically hindered and the lone pair on it increases its reactivity
