Question

The adjacent sides of a parallelogram 36 cm and 27 cm in length. If the perpendicular distance between the shorter sides is 12 cm, find the distance between the longer sides.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Area of parallelogram = base × corresponding height

Corresponding height of the longer base is shorter side.

Corresponding height of the shorter base is longer side.

Let, the distance between the longer sides be h.

36 cm×h=27 cm×12 cm

h=27 cm×12 cm36 cm

h=3×3 cm1

h=9 cm
