  1. 6×1014Kg
  2. 30,000Kg
  3. 10,000Kg
  4. 8,000Kg

A
6×1014Kg
B
10,000Kg
C
30,000Kg
D
8,000Kg
Solution

Answer is option A i.e. 30,000 kg
Forests absorb the carbon dioxide (also CO2 emitted into the atmosphere from human activities) and convert it through photosynthesis into living mass. A tree can absorb as much as 48 pounds (21.7 kg) of carbon dioxide per year. The typical number of trees per hectare as per spacing between them, ranging from 1000 to 2500 trees per hectare (minimum of 1500 trees per hectare). Given that over 50 percent of biomass in these forests resides in the wood of trees, this would absorb a further 32,550 kg in one year i.e. approximately 30,000 kg.
