Question

The area of one end of a cylinder is 154 cm2 and its height is 21 cm. Find the volume and curved surface area of cylinder.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given Height of cylinder (h)=21 cm
Area of its one end =154 cm2
πr2=154
227×r2=154
r2=154×722
=107822=49
r=49=7×7
r=7 cm
Volume of cylinder =πr2h =227×7×7×21
=22×7×21
=3234 cm3
Curved surface area =2πrh=2×227×7×21
=2×22×21
=924 cm2
Hence, the volume of cylinder =3234 cm3
Curve surface area =924 cm2
