The area of parallelogram PQRS is 88 cm2. A perpendicular from S is drawn to intersect PQ at M. If SM=8 cm, then find the length of PQ.

Area (ABCD) = 88 cm2
Extending it to
'T'
Hence, the area
of parallelogram
will be equal to area of rectangle
SRTM.
Area=88=SM×MT=8×MT
MT= 11 cm
also, PQ = MT = 11 cm.
