Question

The circuit diagram below shows a 9.0 V battery in a circuit with three resistors, labeled 1,2 and 3.
What is the voltage drop across resistor 3?
498051.jpg
  1. 3.0V
  2. 9.0V
  3. 27.0V
  4. 81.0V
  5. It is impossible to determined the voltage drop without knowing the resistance value

A
9.0V
B
3.0V
C
81.0V
D
It is impossible to determined the voltage drop without knowing the resistance value
E
27.0V
Solution
Verified by Toppr

As there is no other resistors in circuit besides these three resistors therefore total voltage of battery will be dropped across them , now R1,R2 and R3 are in parallel combination therefore voltage drop across them will be same that is ,
V=9.0V (voltage drop across R3)
