Question

The cost of a flower vase got increased by $$12\%$$. If the current cost is $$Rs.896,$$ what was its original cost ?

Solution
Verified by Toppr

$$12\% = x + 12\%$$ of $$x = x + \dfrac{12}{100} \times x$$
$$= x + \dfrac{3}{25} x = \dfrac{28}{25}x$$
ACQ,
$$\Rightarrow \dfrac{28}{25}x = 896$$
