Question

The diameter and height of a cylindrical chimney are 2 m and 14 m respectively. Find the cost of painting its exterior curved surface at the rate of Rs. 150 per m2.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given, d=2 m and h=14 m.
Cost of painting =Rs. 150 /m2
exterior curved surface area of chimney=(2πr)h=(πd)h=227 ×2×14=88 m2
cost of painting = Rs.88×150= Rs.13,200
