Question

The height of a circular cylinder is 20cm and the diameter of its base is 14cm. Find:
(i) its volume
(ii) its total surface area

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given :
Diameter=14cm
Therefore, Radius =142=7 cm
Height (h)=20cm
Therefore, Volume =πr2h=π(7)2×20
=227×7×7×20
=22×7×20
=3080 cm3
Now,
T.S.A =2πr(r+h)=2π×7(7+20)
=2×227×7×27
=2×22×27
=1188 cm2

Hence, volume of the cylinder is 3080 cm3 and the TSA is 1188 cm2.
