The main aim of the Chipko movement was to protect the trees of the forest. In the 1970s, local villagers (women) of a village named Reni, hugged the trees when few contractors came to the nearby forest to cut the trees. The contractors were shocked and they withdrew their decision to cut the trees. The news spread among communities.
Even after so many years, this movement inspires us to reconsider our priorities towards our environment and protect forests.
So, the correct answer is option A.
