Question

The length and the breadth of a rectangular park are in the ratio 5 : 3 and its perimeter 128 m. Find the area of the park.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let the common factor be x
The ration of l:b=5;3
So the length is 5x
The breadth is 3x
The perimeter is 2(l+b)=1285x+3x=648x=64x=8
So the length is 5(8)=40
The breadth is 3(8)=24
The area is 40×24=960cm2
