Question

The length of a rectangular field is twice its breadth. If the perimeter of the field is 288 m. Find the dimensions of the field.

Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let the breadth of rectangular field be x.
Then its length will be 2x.

Given, perimeter =288 m
2(l+b)=288 m
2(x+2x)=288
6x=288
x=48 m

Now, length will be 2x=2×48=96 m .

Therefore, length and breadth of a rectangular field are 96 m and 48 m respectively.
