Question

The length of a side of a rhombus is 5 m and one of its diagonals is length 8 m. The length of the other diagonal is
  1. 5 m
  2. 7 m
  3. 6 m
  4. 8 m

A
8 m
B
6 m
C
5 m
D
7 m
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Diagonals of rhombus are cut each other at 90.
Since d1=8 and a=5
Therefore, By Pythagoras theorem
a2=(d12)2+(d22)2
52=42+(d22)2
(d22)2=2516=9
d22=9=3
d2=3×2=6
