The major air pollutant is carbon monoxide (CO). It is one of the most harmful pollutants.
Other gaseous air pollutants are carbon dioxide, oxides of sulfur, nitrogen, hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulphide, ozone and other oxidants.
Particulate pollutants include mist, dust, smog, fumes etc.
