  1. 2.4 V
  2. 3.4 V
  3. 4.0 V
  4. 6.0 V

A
3.4 V
B
4.0 V
C
2.4 V
D
6.0 V
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Resistance of voltmeter and 60Ω are in parallel.
Equivalent resistance
=60×4060+40=60×40100=24Ω
For the whole circuit,
current I=6V(40+24)Ω=664=332A
The voltmeter reads potential difference across 60Ω.
Voltmeter reading =I×Req
=332×24=94V=2.25 V.
