Question

The opposite vertices of a rectangle OABC are O(0,0) and B(6,4) If P(1,103) is a point on the other diagonal AC then the ratio in which P divides AC is
  1. 1:5
  2. 2:5
  3. 5:2
  4. 2:3

A
5:2
B
2:5
C
2:3
D
1:5
Solution
Verified by Toppr

The correct option is A 1:5
C=(0,4),A=(6,0)
Let CP:PAbe m:1 Then
P=((m)(6)+(1)(0)m+1,(m)(0)+(1)(4)m+1)
or (6mm+1,4m+1)=(1,103)
or 6mm+1=1,4m+1=103
or m=15
Ratio = 1:5
