Question

The parallel sides of a trapezoid are 3 cm and 9t cm. The nonparallelsides are 4 cm and 6 cm. A line parallel to the base divides the trapezoidinto two trapezoids of equal perimeters. The ratio in which each of then on parallel sides is divided, if APBQ=PDQC, is ___

  1. 4:1
  2. 4:3
  3. 3:2
  4. 3:1

A
3:2
B
3:1
C
4:1
D
4:3
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Let PQ=p,AP=x,BQ=y
ABQP and PQCD have equal perimeters
AP+PQ+QB+BA=PD+DC+CQ+QP
x+p+y+3=6x+9+4y+p
x+y=8
Since APBQ=PDQC
x6x=y6y
2x=3y
x=165,y=245
APBQ=xy=32
