Question

The percentage of metals in a mine of lead ore is 60. Now the percentage of silver is 34% of metals and the rest is lead. If the mass of ore extracted from this mine is 8000 kg, the mass (in kg.) of lead is:
  1. 4764
  2. 4762
  3. 4761
  4. 4763

A
4763
B
4764
C
4762
D
4761
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given mass of lead ore (in kg)=8000
Mass of metals in ore (in kg)=60%of ore.
=60100×8000=4800
Mass of silver=3/4% of mass of metals
=34×1100×4800=36
As lead is metal, so
Mass of Pb=Mass of metal-Mass of Silver
=480036=4764
