The product of two fractions is 527 and their difference is 1118.. Find the two fractions.

Let , be the dfraction are =x and y

Now as per question x×y=527 …(1)

xy=1118 …..(2)

From equation (1) put the value of x in equation (2)

y(1118+y)=527

11y18+y2=527

Multiply by 54 on both sides

33y+ 54y2=10

54y2+33y10=0

Now by quadratic formula

y=33±3324×54×(10)2×54

33±32492×54=33±572×54

y=33+572×54,33572×54

=41108,902×54

=41108,1518

Consider y= 41108

Put the value of y in equation (2)

x41108=1118

x=1118+41108=107108

Hence, 107108 ,41108 are required answer
