Question

The radius of a right circular cone is 3 cm and its height is 4 cm. The total surface area of the cone is:
  1. 48.4 sq. cm
  2. 64.4 sq.cm
  3. 75.4 sq.cm
  4. 96.44 sq.cm

A
64.4 sq.cm
B
48.4 sq. cm
C
96.44 sq.cm
D
75.4 sq.cm
Solution
Verified by Toppr

Given, radius r=3 cm
and height h=4 cm

Then, slant height l=r2+h2

l=32+42

=9+16

=25=5 cm

Total surface area of a cone =πrl+πr2

=π(3)(5)+π(3)2

=15π+9π

=24π=24×3.14

=75.36 cm275.4 cm2

Therefore, option D is correct.
